Description
Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo DOC
Cerasuolo D’Abruzzo is a wine of Abruzzo region that is obtained from 100% Montepulciano grapes.
From the Latin cerasum, which in turn comes from the Greek kerasoi, Cerasuolo therefore stands for “from the color of cherry”.
Cerasuolo has always been the wine of the Abruzzo peasant tradition, which was offered to important guests because they were proud of having managed to do it so well. In fact, in times in which oenological knowledge was that of the oral tradition and in which cellar technology was practically non-existent, Cerasuolo was the most difficult wine to make, because it required some particular attention, both in the vineyard and in the cellar, which they could also be avoided in the simplest red vinifications.
