Description
Montepulciano d’Abruzzo DOC
Montepulciano is a native black grape variety of central Italy, grown mainly in Abruzzo, Marche and Umbria.
The Montepulciano vine has a medium, pentagonal leaf, with a bunch of medium size and compactness and a pyramidal or conical shape. The berries are also medium in size with a firm, thick, very pruinose and blue-black skin.
The wine produced from Montepulciano grapes has an intense ruby red color with violet reflections, tending towards garnet over the years. The aroma is intense and fruity with marked notes of black cherry, plum, violet, red fruit jam, bitter almond and ethereal and spicy sensations. In the mouth it is full-bodied and structured, tannic, warm and of great taste-olfactory persistence.
